How are contracts finalised?

When the outcome of a market becomes clear, it can be finalized, meaning it's permanently closed and finalized based on the result.

On BlockMarket, every market follows preset resolution rules. You can find these rules under the market’s orderbook before trading.

Here’s how it works:

Once finalized, winning shares pay out $1 per share. Losing shares expire worthless.

After resolution, trading is closed and no more buying or selling is possible.

How to dispute an outcome

Every proposed resolution enters a 2 hour challenge window before funds are released to users on each side of the pool. If you believe the proposed outcome is incorrect, you can dispute it during that time.

Disputes trigger a deeper review by the oracle to determine the final correct result, once the oracle has verified the outcome, users are able to retrieve their funds and the pool is closed.
